Holidays are the time we travel to see family and friends. Many of us travel with our children and our fur babies.
If your pet is going to join the family Holiday Road Trip, here are some tips to follow to make sure they travel safely and comfortably.
Create a checklist for your pet just like you do for yourself. Your list should include:
· Travel crate and/or seatbelt harness
· Medicine
· Vet’s number
· Pet’s medical records
· Leash
· Water bowl
· Food and food bowl
· Favorite toys
· Treats
· Litter box and litter
· Blankets
· List of pet-friendly hotels
· Dog parks along your journey and surrounding your destination
· Dog-friendly restaurants
Pack your car and the kids first. Some pets will have travel anxiety, so you want to make sure you are ready to go before you get them settled in. If you believe your pet will be a nervous traveler, consult your veterinarian for advice well in advance of your departure date.
Secure your pet in a comfortable carrier or dog harness during travel for their safety as well as yours. A roaming pet can distract the driver and could cause an accident.
Dogs and cats need potty breaks too. Make sure they go to the bathroom and stretch their legs when the family stops at the rest stop.

Tell PawCrowd what else you have on your pet travel list.
